Cancellations/Postponements

The following information has been provided to us concerning events in SC.


Volvo Tennis (Charleston Apr.4-12) cancelled.


PGA Heritage Golf (Hilton Head Apr. 13-19) cancelled


Bridge Run (Charleston) is rescheduled for Aug. 1

 

All state parks are closed through April.  


City of Aiken will be cancelling/postponing all programs, activities, events and rentals; and closing athletics, recreation and tourism facilities thru 4/12. Also closed are all playgrounds and public use courts (basketball, tennis, pickleball)

 

Barnwell closed all of our Ball Fields and Basketball Courts.  Our passive recreation parks are still open to the public which includes our Disc Golf Course, and people are playing.

 

Beaufort County Effective March 23, all Beaufort County buildings are closed to the public until further notice to minimize opportunities to spread COVID-19 in our community.  As for programs, all are cancelled. We are feeding seniors and making daily home visits. All rentals are cancelled. As for parks everything is closed locked and signs on them.

 

City of Charleston All instructor led Recreation Department programs and classes, including youth and adult sports programs, have been suspended. We have our recreation facilities open but are limiting the numbers of folks in the pool/space.  This may change later today.  Our parks are full with folks walking, jogging, biking, tennis and golf.  

 

City of Clemson Parks and Recreation Department will suspend all youth team sports activities, beginning on Monday, March 16th.    This suspension includes all practices and games.  The targeted date for resumption of activities is Monday, April 6th. The City of Clemson Easter Egg Hunt, scheduled for Saturday, April 11th, has 
also been cancelled.  All Playgrounds have been closed, parks remain open

 

Town of Central Recreation Department will suspend all youth team sports activities, beginning on Monday, March 16th.    This suspension includes all practices and games.  The targeted date for resumption of activities is Monday, April 6th. .      

 

Town of Clover Parks and Recreation has cancelled/suspended all athletic programs, events and rentals thru March 31. The Clover Community Center/Gallery 120 has closed. All parks remain open for leisure use.

 

Charleston County Parks and beaches are currently closed to visitors. All Charleston County Parks events and programs have been canceled through Sunday, May 10, including Pet Fest and the Lowcountry Cajun Festival.

 

City of Columbia cancels all after school programs and park facilities


Fairfield County Parks and Recreation has suspended all programs, rentals and athletics until March 31st

 

City of Florence  Parks and playgrounds are still open, Closed our basketball courts from being used; Canceled our rentals for parks including shelters, gazebos and events until May 15th.  Canceled all community center rentals until May 15th.  All programs for youth in the community centers are canceled until May 15th.  All athletic programs are suspended until April 30th, Will begin working on a refund policy if it comes to that point. Canceled all sport tourism events until may 15th  

 

Fort Mill All town Parks & Recreation facilities are closed until further notice. All recreation youth & adult spring sports programs are suspended until April 12. 


City of Goose Creek recreation facilities are shutdown including outdoor playgrounds and passive parks.  All athletic facilities are also shutdown.  Our staff is currently putting together “virtual recreation” videos that we will be posting on our social media accounts next week.  They will be tutorial videos on various sports, fitness exercises, arts and crafts projects, etc.


All Greenville County Programs, All youth and adult athletic and recreational programs, events and all field rentals canceled until further notice.

 

City of Greenville Parks and Recreation Department will be suspending all youth and adult athletic and recreational programs and events as well as field rentals to ensure the safety of our participants, families, and staff through March 31, 2020. We will however, be evaluating the situation on a regular basis and it is possible that the closure could extend into the month of April.  This suspension includes all City of Greenville afterschool programs, community center programs and rentals. 

 

The City of Greer will close public access to City buildings beginning March 24, asking customers to contact staff electronically for assistance. As an additional step to promote social distancing, the City is closing its parks and playgrounds during the global pandemic. Employees will continue to staff City offices and may be contacted by phone and email. Contact information is posted on entries to each department and is also available at www.cityofgreer.org

 

City of Hardeeville has cancelled its special events through April 4th 2020. Food truck Friday April 3rd, Easter Egg Hunt April 4th, Fishing Rodeo May 2nd. Earth Day Litter Sweep (was April 22nd 9-12) will reschedule. Our park and it’s amenities (not bathrooms) and boat landing remain open to the public at this time.  Playground equipment is not sanitized, it’s use at own risk.


Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission All programs, events, and activities (including practices and games) through the Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission (ICRC) are suspended through Thursday, 30, 2020.  Meals-on-Wheels food delivery will continue.  Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission has closed all indoor and outdoor recreation buildings, playground, trails and facilities to the public through April 30, 2020.

 

Kershaw County Parks & Recreation has canceled all classes and building rentals until further notice. Spring season sports have been cancelled.


Lancaster County has canceled all activities and rentals to include practices, jamborees, games, etc through April 3. 


Lexington County Recreation and Aging Commission will suspend the following activities, programs and Special Events: All youth and adult sports activities will be suspended through April 4th. This includes all practices, games, tournaments and rentals.  All facility rentals through April 4th. All After School programs will close and remain closed through the public school closure ordered by the Governor.  All programs, classes and facility rentals within the Leisure Centers will be suspended through April 4th.  All Leisure Centers and Gymnasiums will be closed to the public through April 4th.  All Senior Centers and the Congregate Meal Program will be suspended until March 31st.  Home Delivered Meal “Meals on Wheels” will operate on normal schedule.  At this time, Wellness Centers (Batesburg-Leesville, Lexington, Tri-City and Cayce Tennis & Fitness Center) will remain open until further notice. The only indoor walking track remaining open will be at Tri-City Leisure Center. 

 

Town of Moncks Corner has closed all facilities.  All of our playgrounds, fields, batting cages, and basketball courts are closed.   

 

Mt. Pleasant On Monday last week we suspended all indoor and outdoor programs through the end of March and closed all indoor facilities.  On Thursday we posted signage at all parks prohibiting organized activities and gatherings of 10 or more people.  Yesterday, following the governor’s order we posted signage at all parks prohibiting gatherings of 3 or more people.  I anticipate that we will be extending our suspension of all activities through the end of April following a conference call this morning.

 

City of Myrtle Beach has closed all recreation centers and cancelled all programs and closed all public playgrounds as well.  Passive Parks & Dog Parks remain open at this time. 

 

City of Newberry’s Parks, Recreation and Tourism offices, public parks and facilities are closed to the public during this time. Additionally, all programs have been suspended until further notice, to include youth and adult athletics, Newberry Arts Center programs, Newberry Firehouse Conference Center events/rentals, Oakland Tennis Center programs, Senior Adult programs and park shelter and cabin rentals

 

City of North Augusta will be cancelling/postponing all programs, activities, events and rentals; and closing athletics, recreation and tourism facilities thru 3/31. Outdoor parks will remain open for public leisure use.

 

City of North Charleston all program and facilities closed until April 30. Includes playgrounds

 

Oconee County PRT-All park programs are postponed until further notice, including all spring break programming. The Wildflower walk at Chau Ram Park is now a virtual self-guided map that can be printed off.  All shelter rentals of more than 50 people are being cancelled though April 15 and a full refund granted. The gate house at each County Park will be unmanned with iron ranger envelopes to avoid contact. Non-essential staff will work from home where applicable. Day use recreation areas and campgrounds are operating as normal with additional cleaning measures as of now. 

 

City of Orangeburg  full time staff on a rotating schedule , part-time staff is off.  Full maintenance staff.  However we have closed all parks, playground, facilities and shelters.  We have also closed all restrooms to the public and suspended all events, activities, and sports until further notice. We have also per the governor closed our boat ramp access.

 

City of Pickens has cancelled all spring volleyball and soccer. Baseball and softball practices and games suspended through through March 31. Our playgrounds and public restrooms are closed at all of our public parks; i.e., Playground of Promise, Doodle Park Playground and Pickens Recreation Center Playground. Both of our bike parks are still open; i.e., Town Creek Bike Park and the Doodle Trail as well as our Town Creek Walking Trail. Out of an abundance of caution, our city offices are limiting entry into our buildings.  The doors are locked and entry is limited. The is no open gym time and no gym rentals. We are now starting to discuss how far out we want to start cancelling events at our amphitheater but that hasn't been finalized yet.

All Senior Luncheons are postponed. Any RCRC event updates will be posted to our website.  We will also communicate updates to our website, Social Media pages, e-blast through MyRec and our Call system.  

 

The City of Rock Hill Parks, Recreation and Tourism (PRT) Department announces All registered programs will be postponed until further notice. This includes but is not limited to athletic league practices/games, senior adult programs, cycling programs, therapeutic programs, outdoor programs, etc. These special events will be postponed with new dates announced when available: Grand Opening of the Rock Hill Sports & Event Center (previously scheduled for March 19)Movie Night at Northside Recreation Center (previously scheduled for March 20. Per Governor McMaster’s Executive Order prohibiting gatherings of three or more people, Rock Hill Parks, Recreation & Tourism playgrounds will be closed until further notice, as well as the Rock Hill BMX Supercross Track, Giordana Velodrome and Rock Hill Tennis Center. Trails and green spaces will remain open, but we ask people to practice social distancing and keep at least a 6-foot separation from other trail users. These closures are in addition to previous adjustments that include all PRT programs and events canceled through April 3, and closure of the four recreation centers, the Rock Hill Sports & Event Center, the Cherry Park Tower and the Manchester Meadows office.


Simpsonville closing all parks and playgrounds until further notice 

 

Spartanburg County will be immediately suspending the following programs until April 30, 2020: Senior Adult / 50+ Wellness, After Class Enrichment, Youth and Adult Athletics (to include practices, games and rentals), Recreation Programs, and Special Events (The Egg-Cessible Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Egg Scramble have been cancelled). All Community Centers, to include indoor fitness centers, will be closed.  The following facilities will be closed until April 30, 2020: athletic facilities (athletic fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, volleyball courts and disc golf courses), playgrounds and outdoor fitness equipment.  The following parks: Chesnee Park, Fairmont Larkin Park, Gordon Henry Park and Mabry Park.


City of Spartanburg Parks, Recreation has suspended all community center programming, athletic league games/practices and rentals until further notice. We will be coordinating with area school districts and community partners on supportive services provided through our facilities at this time. Council members said three trails in the city have been closed and the Rail Trail may also close if officials see an increase in traffic involving people who are not properly socially distancing themselves.

 

St Andrew’s All programs and facility rentals have been suspended for St. Andrew's. We have decided to close our fitness center effective at 5 pm today. We are trying to find a way to keep the pool open but we don't have a firm plan yet. Administrative offices are closed, but we are answering phones and emails remotely. All of our full-time staff are either working remotely, or taking advantage of the empty buildings to clean, paint, etc. Our parks maintenance team is working to sanitize as much as possible and keep the grass mowed. Our ball fields, tennis courts, and playgrounds remain open, but our restroom facilities are being closed. We are sanitizing playgrounds twice daily and posting the cleaning schedule at the playgrounds, as well as encouraging social distancing and following the CDC guidelines.. 

 

Town of Summerville playgrounds, community center, boat landing, skatepark and public restrooms are closed.  We’ve cancelled all permits, rentals, and activities.  Staff have the option to work from home, however they are also permitted to come into the office if they prefer.
